Marasa (Marassa)
They are sacred twin spirits who protect children and are thus associated with procreation. Abundant feasts are offered to the Marasa at ceremonies in return for the safety they provide. Often a third spirit is associated with them, and the trio is referred to as Marasa Twa (Marassa Troi) or divine triplets. Human twins are said to have a strong spiritual connection with the Marasa. Their Catholic counterpart is St. Damian.
